Mark Cuban Launches Online Pharmacy for Affordable Drugs and Transparent Prices

Good news! The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs Company has launched as registered pharmaceutical wholesaler. The company purchases more than 100 generic drugs directly from the manufacturers, eliminating middle men, and lowers the cost to the end consumer. How big of a difference could this make? The generic version of leukemia drug Gleevec retails for $2,502.50, but Cuban now offers it for $17.10. The most outrageous of price reductions can be seen below as the savings can be enormous for customers.

The company does not process any insurance claims so all of the costs to the customer are an out-of-pocket expense. The Pharmacy operates on a 15% margin over manufacturer prices and includes a $3 fee. The company was launched when CEO Alex Oshmyansky emailed Mark Cuban with the idea, and they plan to complete construction on a 22,000 sq. ft. factory in Dallas this year.
